What I Wore Wednesday

WOOT!!!! We have made it once again to another Humpy Day Folks!!!

So I was bad last week, because I'm pretty sure you didn't want to see a photo of my lovely plaid pj's because of our snow-day (yes I said snow-day, we got 15inches!!!)

Okay, since Tom was showering, I had to resort to other photo measures. . . I need a tripod? Me being silly of course! A poorly done tree pose. But check out those TOMS!

I think this photo is the best of me, in this bunch at least. WOO!!! look at that headband. . . and those sleepy eyes. I don't have my glasses on yet. . . maybe that was the problem. hahaha

Monday, spring break here in N. Michigan. Sipping tea at work, so quite, (I work at the local college in town) so things are very quite. So I've been working on my logo for my shop. Oh it's ever changing. :) This time it might be for real!!!

Plus, a local shop in town is getting TOMS! back in-stock. Since I finished my taxes one just might have to slurge!!!!

Tom visted me on lunch which was nice! He hadn't since Christmas break!

I want the snow to melt so I can put my gnomes outside. . . yes I own gnomes. . . several!

Saturday Snapshot: One Year Today

So for this week, I decided to post a picture of our lovely little house. And to celebrate that, one year ago today, we moved into our place on Fern Street.

(Isn't our house the cutest!)

This picture was taken after I finished planting flowers along the path in May 2010. When we moved last year, we did not have any snow. Now (since we got dumped on Wednesday with 15 inches). I think back to how lucky we were that weekend we moved to have lovely weather. I think it was in the 60's! WOW! and today. . . right now it's probably -2 degrees.

Friday Favorites!

Wow, it's Friday already! YAHOO! I am very excited for this! I love Friday's, it means the weekend will beginning soon! Plus, this week was short due to our snow day. Yes snow day, I said that right. . . Plus today's temp will be like 27. COLD! But next week, in the upper 30's to almost 40's. OMG! Hahaha, sad I know.

Oh wow, how did that one get in there LOL!!! Check out that headband! It's all the rage right now!!!! It's a turban headband! I have this grey and white striped and a light blue one. (picture to come) I love making them
So, since I didn't post a What I'm Wearing Wednesday, I thought I'd give you one today! To be honest, I did shower, but I got right back into pj's! I rarely have weekdays off, so it was a nice treat to be lazy!

But I wasn't completely lazy! I shoveled TWICE!! (my back is killing me today) I did so much, I didn't have to do my Wii Fit haha! I also completed another shirt! Picture tomorrow. I love it, can't wait to show you!

Snow Day and Prints

So, as I woke up this morning hearing the roar of the snow-plow going by, I checked my i-pod touch (wifi), and saw that the college that I work at was closed. I rolled back over (snuggled up with Tom) and went back to sleep. SNOW DAY!!!!!

However, I have gotten a lot done today. Dishes, laundry, massive shoveling! Plus, I now have some fabric samples for everyone. (more and more to come as I edit them!)

This was the view outside out window this morning. That's about 5 inches worth of snow over night. We have since gotten about another two. NOTHING! compared to my parents who got 10 inches! Oh my!!! Poor spring. . . how Northern Michigan loves to tease.

So, we are coming up on our one year anniversary that we have been in our lovely little Fern Street home. How should I celebrate. . . maybe a giveaway? suggestions?

Camera Strap

Happy Tuesday, did everyone survive Monday?

Last night I went home and whipped this lovely off my sewing machine. Now my neck won't hurt because of the awesome padding! slim, comfy, stylish what more can a girl ask for haha!

I had so much fun making this. It's a bit skinnier than normal straps because my camera strap itself is on the slim side. 1inch! WOW! But, I would totally make this big, it's easy to modify. Custom orders?? I should put up fabric samples :) Any takers?

Welcome Spring!

I saw these pom's on etsy super cute to ring in the first day of spring!

So, it's no surprise I love Tom's shoes. I really want a pair of red one these year. Gotta start saving up!

But, I've seen these necklaces before, just thought they were extra cute for this spring day!

Oh Monday. I just don't want to get up for work. (I'm glad for a job) just not for getting up early and heading off. I enjoy my lazy days at home with my cats and of course Tom. This week his off-site day is Tuesday, so he pretty much had last Thursday off-site, worked Friday, Saturday, Sunday off, Monday work, then off-site Tuesday. Two days of actually going to work. Lucky duck!

However, the weather here for the first day of spring sucked. It was a wet snow then rain. BLEH! Oh well. . . I'll just keep my hopes up that I can ride my bike soon!!

Saturday Snapshot

Back in the Fall of 2009, I was taking a American Civil War History Class for my degree. A soldier was discovered in an unmarked grave and was identified as a man who lived in Traverse City. Pretty exciting really.

So, there was a whole civil war service for this gentleman. I'm glad I could be apart of this moment in our history.

Friday Favorites

With the weather becoming (finally) nicer. Spring fever is setting in. I'm looking at brighter colors, and spring-time items.

I love these new fabric bracelets from Caroline's shop! I want all of those colors!

Turban headbands are becoming sooo popular. I've been getting into more headbands lately. . . more for spring because winter=hats. BabooshkaBoutique has some really cute ones for sale!

I love flats! One cannot deny that these mushroom ruffles are adorable! And they're from TARGET!!!!

These peep-toes are adorable as well! Again TARGET!! LOVE IT!

I also wanted to say, that though my little etsy shop is small, and I don't generate a lot of income, I want to donate a portion of my sales to help Japan. I haven't chosen an organization yet, but I think a good solid place is the American Red Cross. Suggestions are welcome on othe places to donate. Every-little bit helps!
