Tickle Me Tuesday

Hello Tuesday! Here we are again, (I always say that, but for some reason it always feels like it). Anyways, Monday is done so that means we are getting into the week here. The annual Super Bowl party is this Sunday-(I'm not into football really, it's just tradition). However, today I am linking up with Sarah for Tickle Me Tuesdays

Ginnifer Goodwin, I love watching Once upon a time. Such a good show! And I love her hair!

This foggy hat pattern is really cute! Might have to make it soon. One can never have too many hats.

This blouse from Old Navy is really cute, hope spring comes soon!!

Tickle Me Tuesday

It is Tuesday again! Michigan winter is in full-swing, so that means getting to projects that keep one inside and toasty warm.
Linking up with Sarah check out the others!

So my niece Cali will be 4 this year! WOW! Time flies, so I saw this cute Camilla sweater for toddlers and thought of her.

I know it's kinda cheating, but since I don't own my own wheel just a spindle, I thought of purchasing already spun fibers to experiment with dyeing.

Because last night I was invited to par-take in some yarn dyeing. Kat Eldred was kind enough to test out my curiosity for this art. It was a lot of fun!

Happy Tuesday!

Wedding Part 2

Okay, I know it's been awhile for the second part of the wedding photo's but your waiting has paid off.

My Mum helped me get ready over at my in-laws house.

Final look, I liked it :)

My Matron of Honor helping put on my garter. We had a joke that since I put her garter on and she wanted it to go higher-haha, you'd have to know us. . .it would be scary.

My bouquet. I LOVED IT! This was our florist creation, I just gave her some suggestions and this was what she came up with.

Our center piece.
Mini-versions! So cute.

My half of the wedding party. Cali our niece was our flower girl. She's almost 4 now, and she was so cute!

The Ceremony site. Note-the sun JUST! came out in-time for the wedding, it was raining earlier. It was also not that warm-maybe 50s, so that is why you see me in a cardigan.

Cali was perfect!

We had to walk down some stairs, but it worked out well with the music.
Walking down the aisle.

My Great-Uncle married us.

Walking back down.

Part three. . . sooner rather than later!

Finished Hats

I really want to get better at taking photo's of my finished works. So here are two of them that I snapped this morning.

I got some lovely yarn for Christmas from my Mum and Austin. The Fibre Company's Canopy Fingering.
I then used the yarn to create my first fair isle project En Blekksprut
This was not as hard as everyone may think it is. I really enjoyed it! Now I need to make mittens and a scarf to all match.

My second I have to say I was a bit slow to post. I made this hat two days before Christmas! WOW! It knits up super fast! I used some lovely Madelinetosh Worsted yarn that I got when Tom and I were in Portland. I enjoyed knitting with this yarn, wished I could have bought more.
Anyways, the hat was created by such an amazing designer! Jill Zielinski! Check out her hat the Smocked Slouch here
It's a great hat for a last minute knit!

But look at this roving fiber! Such pretty stuff. Yarn Love!

For any knitter out there, who can resist these cuties!

IF YOU HAVE NOT! seen this, you MUST! Downton Abbey is AMAZING! Now in the second season and I cannot wait for Sunday to come around. This show is just wonderful, I am engrossed in every single character. Simple wonderful. Must watch!

Happy Tuesday!

What I Love Wednesday

So it's Wednesday again, this week is just dragging, feels like it should be Thursday. And today is also the last day of our lovely winter weather. . . 45 degrees again but tomorrow brings snow and lots of it. Oh well, I do live in Northern Michigan, and we have had it mild thus far.

So anyways, I'm linking up with Krystina over at lollipops for What I Love Wednesday.

Lisa over at mylittlebuffalo has some of the cutest cards in stock. She now has some Valentines Day cards up too! Check it out

34th & 8th mittens are just too cute! I want to make them!

Happy Wednesday!

You Spin ME!

Haha, so this weekend, I learned how to spin!!! YAHOO!! I am now hooked (no pun intended.)
I used Alpaca fibers. . . from a cute alpaca named Simmon. I am still getting the hang of spinning, but here is my result:

It's small, maybe a baby hat size. . . or small mittens, but I love it. I am so proud of my new step into the vast world of knitting. I bought more unwoven yarn from a local Wonder-Knitter/Spinner/Dyer. Whyknotyarn by Kathryn Eldred. Pictures to come as I spin it up!! I want a spinning wheel now, but the price-tag is a little scary. . . maybe Birthday-Anniversary-Christmas combo hahaha.

What I Love Wednesday

Time to recap on a few items from Christmas.
I'll be linking up with Krystina over at lollipops for What I Love Wednesday.

I have a lot of knitting literature to get through!

Lovely skeins of Grey and Yellow yarn from the Fibre Company. This will be used to make a hat! Worked in two colors for a Fair Isle technique. . . wish me luck!

I really wanted a drop spindle kit for Christmas. My Mum got me this with the face of the Alpaca on the front. Simmon is super cute!

Happy Wednesday!

2011 Year in Review. . . sorry late

2011 was filled with expereinces. Both good and bad, I wouldn't trade this year for the world! 2012 has hit us with a good amount of snow, but we were due anyways. Tom and both were off from work last week, so sorry I didn't blog (could you blame me?) We enjoyed relaxing knitting, and video gaming! It was hard to come back to work, but it was a good time off.

So lets recap before we set our goals!

The year started off well with Super Bowl Partys galore!

February saw the opening of my craft shop on etsy!

Latest item is the Morse Code Necklace! LOVE THEM!

I also went from Blonde to Brunette in March! WOW what a change.

April we painted Easter Eggs. So much fun!

However. we got blasted with a ton of snow in late April.

May-June saw me preparing for my first Craft Show. I plan to do it again this year!

July was a big month. First my craft show!

Then we celebrated my 26th birthday with a wine tasting tour.

My long-time friend (5th grade here) Erin got married in August. I was so happy to be her maid of honor.

September was our most epic month. Tom turned 25 and we went hiking.

Oh yeah, on September 24, 2011 I married the man of my dreams.

It was such a fun and crazy day, it looks like a blur to me. I love our goofy photos!

We honeymooned in Portland (which we love and I keep thinking about all the time!!!)

The coast was amazing!

And went to Seattle! Loved this city as well!!!

October saw a lot of changes for the Haug Family. We chopped our hair, donated it for a good cause! Tom had over 12 inches!!!! I had around 8 inches. It was great! Plus the weather was LOVELY! I also sought a new adventure in the job market. After my June job announcement, October saw me leaning towards a different path. I quit and returned to where I worked before with addition to going back to writing. I love being back at a News Paper. It was a hard choice for me, but with the strength and love of my husband and my family I made the right choice.

November saw me return to knitting like no other!!

We also welcomed a new baby into our family. Odin is adjusting very nicely! He's lost a little bit of weight and is just the ball of orange fluffy that we love!

We spent our second Christmas in our house, and our first as husband and wife.

It was certainly a great year!

So goals for 2012.

1. Learn how to spin yarn

2. Learn how to dye yarn

3. Color knit!

4. Work out more.

5. read more

6. Prepare for my craft shows

7. Give my shop more focus

8. Cook more

9. Take more photos

10. Use my polaroid more

11. Love my husband

12. Visit friends!

13. Save up money

14. Go back to school?

15. Work on the house/yard

Happy 2012 everyone!
