I love Calvin and Hobbes!

My Cascade Magnum yarn came in the mail on Monday. OMG!! It was like the size of a small baby! I love it though, because I wanted to make. . .

Montebello Cowl by French Press Knits

I've talked about this cowl for awhile now, and finally had some time to get it done. Fast knit and great look to it.

I am tired of snow. I want to be able to wear my TOMS!! Plus I want these cordones! They are soo cute!!!

Plus, to go with my classics, I would love these red ones!
Honestly, can the snow go away! We have had enough! Trust me I love knitting, I love snuggling up on the couch with my fiance, but honestly, I am over the cold and snow! I have a lot of spring/summer knits planned, that I think I'll make!
Have a good weekend everyone, stay warm! And look for my post on Monday!!!!

Latest Knits, and Nephews!

So, since it has been seriously cold in Northern Michigan, I have taken to knitting a lot! This weekend, I finished another cowl, the braided cowl that is.

It was actually a lot of fun! I love wearing it, nice and warm with a hint of stylish glimmer to it.

My Blue Sky Alpaca Yarn from Tom this Christmas went to making the Breckenridge Cowl
I really love this cowl. Nice and warm! My office tends to be on the freezing side and I love to keep warm. Especially when, it is -2 degrees and even colder with wind-chill.

Tom's Mum called last night, TAH-DAH!!! We have a new nephew!! I've been whipping up these lovely Kanoko Pants for a few days now.
Super cute, Tom loves them. Very easy really, they look harder than they really are.

Back view of them. Can't wait to package them up and send them on their way. However, I'd really like to add more to the baby package. I want to make a bunny for Cali (she's a big sister now at almost 3 years old.) and I want to make an owl for the little guy.

So, just two, yes TWO posts away from my 100th post which means GIVEAWAY!!! WEEE!!!

Coffee cozy, not totally finished, I have to add eyes. But their owls, cute right? I thought so!

Why is everything green? I have no idea. I love green. . . I made this coffee cozy for a friends birthday gift. Fast and easy knit!

Tom's sister is expecting a baby boy any-day now really. So, I've been knitting him a pair of pants. Should be done soon. Then I'd love to make a stuffed animal. We shall see what I come up with.

Cute little Hamlet!

Nanaki freaking out that string is on his head.
It was funny that I just had to snap a pic of him. LOL

Friday Favs!

So, while checking my email, I saw that Michaels is doing an awesome $1 sale on their Sugar n' Cream yarns! YAHOO!!!! I am soo there!

I am not going to be buying any clothes that I don't need this year in order to save up for our wedding. However, I had a gift card to American Eagle. I really really love their white boyfriend tanks. So, I stocked up on two whites, and one dusty rose, and one olive green. Should last awhile.

With the rest of my gift card I got this greyish lavendar cardigan. Now, I love cardigans, and I don't have one like this. So I think it will be a nice addition to my closet. Plus it will be worn in all seasons!
I have major plans for this weekend!! I plan on cleaning up the spare bedroom in our house, that has just been used as a library for our books/office. Well, the full potential is not being used! So, I plan on turning it into my craft/office space. :) Hopefully, Tom will be cool with this, hahaha. Pictures to come!!!
Plus, I will have pictures of my FIRST!! ever scarf design!! Look for it soon!

A List For 2011

So I have been pondering what I want to accomplish in 2011.

1. Of course this means my biggest plan this year is my wedding. So far the big elements are out of the way, like venue, catering. We are now getting ready to plan our honeymoon. :) Very exciting.

2. Continue knitting. I fell in love with knitting this year, I want to continue that this year. So far, my sweater has one sleeve, and I have started a few other cowls.

3. My etsy store. I really want to re-open a totally new store on etsy this year. More focused products and of course a more focused idea of the direction of my store.

4. Get into graphic designs. I plan to start with photoshop and continue from there. Where it will lead, I don't really know.

5. Work out more. I love my Wii fit. It's really helped me stay trim during the holidays, and hopefully until summer.

6. A new job. Come on 2011, 2009 bummer, 2010 bummer, I know this year is my time to shine!!!

I am also getting ready for my giveaway!! Only a few more posts, so keep a close eye on the prizes!! I might just slip in a picture or two!

Christmas Books and Magazine

So, due to my ever expanding obsession with knitting, I got this book The Knitter's Year by Debbie Bliss
So far I have not knitted anything from it, however I have been reading ever little pattern in it. I love the color structure throughout the entire book. I really want to start making some of the things in it, but I have set a goal to finish my sweater ASAP!!!

I want to re-open my etsy shop, but this time to re-do 99% or my concepts. Jill from Knitterella
suggested this book, Craft Inc. I love the concepts that this book brings. I have some new ideas that I plan to add to my shop. I hope I can bring some new elements to the table. Also, the items in my give-away (ONLY 5 MORE POSTS!!!) will feature what I will be adding to my new and improved shop. I cannot wait!!

I picked up this magazine for the long car-ride to downstate a few weeks ago. I love it! I really want to knit the cowl on the front cover. So, my boss gave my a gift-certificate to stores downtown, and tah-dah!! there is a yarn shop down there.

Now, normally, I don't really like going into the shop. One of the sale's people that work there makes me feel un-welcomed. I feel like I am messing up her stuff if I rummage through the yarn. I'm a tactile person, I have to feel the yarn to understand it. HOWEVER!!!! I went down with my Mum and we met the owner. She was in sorority with my Mum several years back. She was VERY nice, and I enjoyed my time there very much. I will return, but only when she's there. Sad, yes. . . I know.

This is what I got. Berroco Lustra and Berroco Sundae.
I will have to scale the cowl a bit differently, because the Lustra is thinner and the Sundae is a chunky, but I loved the color palette. Looks like a fast knit too, maybe I'll fit it in during my sweater. Oh!! I am 50% through one sleeve. Hahaha, only 1.5 more sleeves to-go. Then the body!!
