Friday Favorites

Happy Friday Everyone!! Made it through yet another week. This week was hard, with my cold, but I did it! (voice still cracking. . . ) and now Tom's gotten a mild version of my cold! Poor guy. He's taken it easy today at home. Rest up!

BIG NEWS!!! Really excited to share with you! I GOT INTO MY ART SHOW!!!!! YAHOO!!!!
July 3! WOOT!! This is big because, here in great ol' N. Michigan that is the week of the National Cherry Festival! YES! I got into the Cherry Fest Art Show Downtown TC!! (Traverse City for non-residents haha). If you're in the area, come and check out my booth!! So, I will be crafting for the next two months! Advice is totally welcomed, I'm scared and nervous but mostly excited!

Mothers have not seen it yet, plus I will be taking pictures to see what we have to work with. Crunch time, less than 5 months!!! WEE!! Plus, I have to get the store ready! New May items are coming!!

Easter Eggs!

Okay, so first off, I would like to thank each and everyone for coming to my blog, taking time to comment and read my (most of the time) rambling posts. Thank you!



Last Friday Tom and I went over to my friend Judy's house to paint Easter Eggs. There was a bit of a twist to them though. We decorated them in the "pysanky" style. Check them out! I did one over the summer but these are not to keep. A different non-toxic dye.

This one is suppose to be chicken feet :)

This one may look easy, but all of the white had to be filled in. It took Tom quite a while to complete. You put wax over the part that you want to be white, the rest become the color you dip.

I tried my hand at some chevrons!

Tom's funny little guy!

This was Tom's first egg. He did an amazing job. He was going for more of a traditional egg design. The first layer he colored everything he wanted white, dipped it in orange, colored everything he wanted orange, then dipped it in green. Pretty cool!

A co-worker on Tuesday brought in her baby chickens. These little guys are one day old! Amazing. I heard peep peep peep all day long haha.

Sorry for the Delay

My latest WIP! This is my first time using lace weight yarn! This project is about two weeks into the running, but it's fun. I really like this color.

Friday Favorites

Happy Earth Day Everyone!! Yeah!! I plan on getting me a free cup of coffee at Starbucks today, are you?

Tom and I both have today off from work, so we are relaxing this morning on the couch. Hamlet is snuggled up next to me. Several things to get done today, but it should be fun :)

So, I have been getting a little bit back into knitting. Strange how I float from one type of media to the next. . . haha. Anyways, this Seaweed yarn is adorable, it changes colors as you knit.

In keeping with the knitting theme, this really cute back from Wattlebird caught my eye.

Geninne has some really cute bird prints. I liked Bird No17, and several more!

Well, talking about birds here! my cute yellow clutch just had to make the list haha. :) It does have little bird cages all over it.

Please, Spring Come Back

Tuesday night we were treated to a disaster of slushy snow. Yeah, This was Tuesday night, it continued till morning.

Words fail me when I see this. Look at the snow on my bird feeder/squirrel baffle.

This was taken a week ago. Yes, that is a squirrel sitting on a fence with a piece of bread. The squirrels in our area are evil. I say this lightly, because one may think they are cute and fuzzy, but they are: case-in-point here
So I asked Tom if we put any stale bread out. (which we do to keep them at bay from the feeder, see above the squirrel baffle) He said, no. So, I just had to get this photo. Our neighbor (whom I also work with) Amanda put out bread too! Haha, I will give them credit for one thing, they are smart and crafty.

Hope everyone is having a better Wednesday than I am. We got dumped on with snow. YES! I said SNOW! It's April 20, and we got SNOW. GRRRR Sometimes, N. Michigan I just wanna punch you! Oh well, today and tomorrow will melt it with 40's and 50's later in the week. Ugh. . .

Saturday Snapshot

So last October (can't believe it was that long ago) my long-time friend Sara got married. Yes, that is me, working the sunglasses haha, great foster-grants. It was beautiful! N. Michigan as I continue to say, is well, temperamental. But this day for her wedding was perfect. Couldn't ask for better weather! I can only hope we get lovely weather for ours in September!

"How Much Is That Kitty In The Window?"

Hamlet loves to look outside a lot. We have wide window ledges in our house. Perfect for chubby kitties.

So, back in the Fall, I raced against the elements to plant bulbs. Well, squirrels are evil and dug up several. I was worried they wouldn't survive. Guess what some did!!

This is along the front walk-way. Honestly, I think they will be tulips, haha! can't remember everything that I planted. Sad, I know.

New headband color! I have yellow and grey too. I wanna do a coral one as well. But I LOVE the mint color right now.

And, yes, I had to make a funny face, come on, it's Friday! survived another week.
